The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Project Manager to join our our dynamic e-commerce company. . This role will be pivotal in driving our strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with our business goals, and enhancing our project execution capabilities.
The role is fast paced and dynamic with diverse stakeholders, but the candidate will be given a high level of autonomy. We are in a phase of building our new strategy and we need a SPMO to support in the delivery of our identified key initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Strategic Project Implementation: Oversee and facilitate the implementation of strategic projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders across various departments to monitor the progress of strategic projects, ensuring they are on track and moving in the right direction.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain continuous communication with the business process owners and key-users providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Structure Management: Coordinate with the Business Owners and managers to ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to support the successful execution of strategic projects.
- Governance Management: Implement and manage check points and check-ins to ensure project alignment and progress, follow up of the projects in the dedicated Steering Committees.
- Strategic Planning: Assist the Management Committee in the development and refinement of strategic plans, in collaboration with with the EVP of Strategy.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the strategic projects success and sustainability.
- Performance Tracking: Establish and monitor strategic projects metrics, providing regular updates and reports to Management Committee on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Best Practices Development: Contribute to the creation and implementation of project management best practices, tools, and methodologies within the SPMO.
Skills & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, finance or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, preferably within the ecommerce or retail sector.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills,
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello).
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is a plus.
- Fluent in French and English; additional languages are an asset.
